The main industries in the county are coal mining, electricity production, and farming. A statue erected at the Emery County Courthouse honors coal miners and those who have died in mining accidents

The bronze statue "The Coal Miner" was created by the Price, Utah sculpter Gary Prazen after the Wilburg Mine Disaster in 1984
